How to Migrate your Abandoned cart automation to a Journey

Step-by-Step Guide to Migrate an Abandoned Cart Automation to a Journey

1. Save Your Abandoned Cart Automation Templates

Before creating a Journey, you’ll need to save the email templates from your existing abandoned cart campaigns:

  • Go to your existing abandoned cart Automation campaigns in Remarkety.

  • Open each part of the campaign (e.g., Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 of your abandoned cart series).

  • Save each email template for reuse by following these steps:

    • Open the email editor for each campaign.

    • In the top right corner, click More Actions > Save as Template save action.png

    • Save the template under a unique and identifiable name (i.e."Abandoned Cart Email 1 Hour"). name.png

2. Create a New Abandoned Cart Journey

Now that your templates are saved, you can create a new Journey:

  • Navigate to the Journeys section in Remarkety.

  • Click on Create New Journey and select a name for your journey (e.g., "Abandoned Cart Journey").

3. Add Abandoned Cart Emails to the Journey

Once the journey is created, you can add emails from your saved Automation templates:

  • In the Journey editor, add the first email step and click Create New Template.  create template.png

  • Under the email content editor, click Import from Automations (1). Select the saved template for the first part of your abandoned cart series (2).

  • Repeat this process to add additional steps for the second and third emails in the series. Optional: Add SMS Steps to the Abandoned Cart Journey.

Best Practices for Timing

  • Email 1: Send 1 hour after the cart is abandoned. This email serves as a gentle reminder.

  • Email 2: Send 24 hours after the cart is abandoned. Highlight the value of the product and include any offers.

  • Email 3: Send 48 hours after the cart is abandoned. Create urgency with messaging about limited stock or time-sensitive discounts.
