Question:
A customer reported that when receiving our emails, the “sent-from” name is incorrect when they open the email on their mobile device. Why do our emails show up with a strange “sent-from” name on the customer’s mobile device?
Answer:
Most often, the customer who reported this issue has an internal address book on his mobile device which is overriding the name and email address that is displayed. Once adding a certain email address, like marketing@abccompany.com to your address book, the inbox will show the name listed in your address book, instead of the display name associated with the incoming email message.
Make sure the person who reported this should check what name is listed for your “sent-from” email address in his mobile device’s contacts.
