Batch Updates

Contact batch updates is a set of multiple update statements that are submitted to our systems to process at the same time. Sending multiple updates is much more efficient than updating each contact separately. 

Remarkety has made it very simple to modify multiple contacts at once. You can now add/remove tags, change marketing preference, download a segmented list, suppress a certain list of contacts, and even delete contacts from your list, in 2 simple clicks.

How to add tags using the batch update?

1. Select a filter for the contacts you wish to add tags to and click the Update filters button.
2. Then, your contact list will be segmented according to the filter you selected.
3. Click on the Actions drop-down box and select "Add tag."
4. A pop-up window will appear which allows you to either write in a new tag or pick and existing one.
5. Press update once you are ready to add the appropriate tag.

**To remove tag, go through the same process, but select “Remove tag” inside the “Actions” drop down menu, instead of “Add tag”.

How to change marketing preference using the batch update?

1. Select a filter for the contacts you wish to change the marketing status and click the Update filters button.
2. Then, your contact list will be segmented according to the filter you selected.
3. Click on the Actions drop-down box and select "Set marketing preferences".
4. A pop-up window will appear which allows you to either choose to change the marketing status to either “Marketing Allowed” or “Marketing Not Allowed”. Read here to learn more about Remarekty’s marketing statuses and their meaning.
5. Press Update once you are ready to add the set the marketing preference to the selected group of contacts.

How to download contacts using batch update?

1. Select a filter for the contacts you wish to download and click the Update filters button.
2. Then, your contact list will be segmented according to the filter you selected.
3. To download the filtered list, click on the Actions drop-down box and select "Download contacts".

** In order to download your entire contact list, click on the “Actions” drop down window and click “Download Contacts” without adding any filter beforehand.

How to Suppress contacts using the batch update?

1. Select a filter for the contacts you wish to suppress and click the Update filters button.
2. Then, your contact list will be segmented according to the filter you selected.
3. To suppress the filtered list, click on the Actions drop-down box and select "Suppress".

How to delete contacts using the Batch update?

1. Select a filter for the contacts you wish to delete and click the Update filters button.
2. Then, your contact list will be segmented according to the filter you selected.
3. To delete the filtered list, click on the Actions drop-down box and select "Delete Contacts".
4. A pop-up window will appear which allows you to either regularly delete contact, or completely delete the contacts.
   1. Regular delete: Contacts will be marked as deleted and will no longer be shown on your Contacts page, receive emails or count towards your billing quota. However, we still maintain their information in our system. This action is recoverable.
   2. Completely delete: The complete contact information (fields, order history, and email history) will be completely erased. This action is not recoverable - we will not be able to help you if you use this option by mistake. You will not be able to complete the process until you type in “I confirm” in the confirmation checkbox.
