Boost Conversions with Automated Price-Drop Journeys: A Step-by-Step Guide

Price-drop journeys are a powerful tool to engage your customers by notifying them when products they’re interested in go on sale. By setting up an automated price-drop journey, you can capture the attention of the right customers, drive higher conversion rates, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps to create a price-drop journey. If you haven’t yet created any journeys in Remarkety, we recommend reviewing this article for more information.

  1. Create the journey. Inside the Remarkety dashboard, navigate to Journeys > Create Journey.
  2. Select the Product Price Drop trigger.

  3. Name the campaign.

Click the "Create Journey" button to begin building your campaign.

  1. Configure the trigger settings.

Here, you will define what price drop will trigger the email and to whom it will be sent. You’ll specify the product in the next step.
    1. Choose whether the email will be triggered by a percentage decrease in the product's price or by a specific absolute value (based on your store’s set currency).
    2. Decide which customer interactions with the product will trigger the journey (e.g., added to cart, viewed, or purchased).
    3. Specify the timeframe within which customers must have interacted with the product for the trigger to activate.

  1. Apply filters to choose which product(s) will trigger the campaign.

Select the specific products whose price drop will trigger the email. You have three filter options under Trigger Filters:trigger filters.jpeg
    1. Product selection: Select products directly from your product catalog
    2. Product category: Choose to trigger the email based on specific product categories (e.g., shoes, accessories, women’s clothing, etc.).
    3. Trigger property: This allows you to choose products based on product ID, price, or other product attributes such as creation date, last modification, etc.

Additionally, you can apply other filters, such as customer segment or purchase history.

  1. Set re-entry conditions.

Specify the criteria under which customers can re-enter the journey.

  1. Design the journey.

Use the various journey steps, including sending emails, SMS messages, adding wait times, and splitting actions based on customer behavior. For more information on these journey steps, refer to this article.

Template tags

Inside your campaign templates, use these tags to show the dynamic data related to the product price drop.

${price_change.absolute_price_change_formatted} - the numeric value of the price change, formatted in your store's default currency.

${price_change.percentage_price_change} - the percent change of the product's price drop.

${price_change.before_formatted} - the product's price before the drop formatted in your store's default currency.

${price_change.after_formatted} - the product's price after the drop formatted in your store's default currency.

  1. Best Practice: Run the journey in test mode for a few days before operating it live.

  2. Activate the journey

Switch to "Run" mode to launch your price-drop campaign.
