This article includes information about connecting your eCommerce store to Remarkety's platform. It will cover some essential steps to create the foundation for your successful journey with Remarkety.

After following a few quick procedures, you will be ready to start sending out marketing content to your consumers.

First we’ll connect your eCommerce store with Remarkety and create your account. You’ll also refine a few settings, including SPF/DNS records and web tracking. This setup will ensure your campaigns run smoothly.

Step 1: Check compatibility

Check below to see if Remarkety supports your eCommerce platform:

Bigcommerce

Magento 1 and Magento 2

OpenCart (Up to version 2.3.0.2)

PrestaShop (1.5 and up)

Shopify

Virtuemart (1, 2, and 3)

WooCommerce

Yahoo for Small Business; support article on connecting

Note: If your eCommerce platform is not listed above, please see our customer integration docs or contact support. Remarkety does support integrating with custom platforms on our premium plans (I.e. Advanced, Professional, and above).

Step 2: Add Remarkety to your store

Go to your eCommerce platform.

Search for Remarkety in its app store and download it from there.

Once the download completes, follow the prompted steps.
This process creates your Remarkety account and will automatically sync with your store's data. Your store's historical data includes previous orders, shoppers, subscribers, catalog, and more. Once you sync, Remarkety will automatically save data into your account.

For troubleshooting errors, test your store connection. Follow this link for an explanation on how to do this.

Step 3: Import your data to Remarkety

Now go to your Remarkety dashboard.

Select Settings from the navigation menu and then Store Info.

Populate your store’s info into Remarkety by pressing Input Settings from Store button towards the bottom of the page.

Step 4: Customize your store’s contact info

Check over the info after it populates.

Below we describe each field so you can be sure the information is accurate and represents your store the way you want it to. You can customize each message sent out via Remarkety, but you will want some info to stay the same. For example, you probably want the “sent from” name that appears in your subscribers’ inboxes to remain the same. Remarkety will auto populate these email fields where applicable, but please take a look and refine where needed. It’s also easy to change these settings at any time.

  1. Store name (Default "From" name):
This is the store name your customer will see when receiving your email. To auto-apply this store name to all existing and future campaigns, check Apply now to all campaigns.

  2. Contact name:
This is the contact name your customer will see whenever you use the tag {$store.contactName} inside an email. Don’t worry about tags for now, but you can learn more about Remarkety’s dynamic tags here.
  3. Default "From" email address:
This is the email address your customer will see when receiving your email. Check Apply now to all campaigns to auto-apply to all existing and future campaigns.
We_would_love_to_hear_your_feedback_Inbox_x.jpgPlease make sure to use an existing business address. Remarkety does not allow you to use personal email addresses (such as @gmail.com) in this field.

  4. Default "Reply To" email address:
This will be the automatic “reply to” email address your customer sees when receiving your email. Check Apply now to all campaigns to auto-apply to all your existing and future campaigns.

For deliverability purposes, we recommend setting the “reply to” address as a different one from the “send from address.”

The “reply to” email address shows in the second row "reply-to: support@remarkety.com"

  5. Brick-and-mortar information:
This is the physical address of your store.

    You can include the following:
  1. Phone number
  2. Address
  3. City
  4. Country
  5. State/Region
  6. Zip/postal code
  7. Time-zone
  8. Currency
  9. Locale
  10. Vertical
Adding your store’s vertical helps Remarkety recommend campaigns to you based on the best performing campaigns from other accounts in your vertical.

See how it comes together the image below, which appears at the bottom of each email you send with Remarkety:

There are other settings on this page that are predefined for your convenience, but they can be changed easily on the same settings page. You can read more about them here and here.

Step 5: Optimize deliverability

At this point, it might be helpful to have a developer handy if you do not know your DNS records. The setup is explained for you, however, if you need to do this on your own.

SPF
An SPF is a type of DNS record, it stands for Sender Policy Framework. This is the DNS record that tells email providers that a third-party is authorized to send an email on your behalf.

How to set up your SPF record
To set up your SPF record to help improve your message deliverability, follow this link. Once you finish, return here to continue setting up your store on Remarkety's platform.

How to set up your DKIM record
Remarkety also uses other records to ensure your best chances for inbox deliverability. DKIM records (DomainKeys Identified Mail) serve as an authentication measure to ensure that sent messages were not altered during transit before reaching the recipient. To set up your DKIM records with Remarkety, email support@remarkety.com and you will receive a response email with more detailed instructions.

Step 6: Enable web tracking

Activating and installing web tracking allows our platform to collect certain data from your website. This includes page tracking information and product view notifications, which enables the Browse Abandonment campaign to work when you want to use it.

It looks different on each platform, so follow the links below to set up web tracking on your website.

If you have a custom plan and have not yet discussed setting up web tracking with your success manager, reach out to support@remarkety.com.

Once your web tracking is set up, a green banner will appear on your screen like this:

Congrats on properly setting up your store’s Remarkety account. Now it is ready to use!

Next up is a tour of our dashboard. Once you’ve had a look around there, we’ll show you how to set up your very first campaign using Remarkety.
